Trafficking cases require thorough case preparation of complex evidence. Analyzing potential charges early in the case allows for the collection of evidence and the consideration of what witnesses are required. Expert witnesses are necessary to help the jury understand both pimp subculture and victim issues. Anticipating defense strategies helps prosecutors stay focused on their case to achieve a successful prosecution. Brooke Grona-Robb is the Deputy Chief of the Crimes Against Children Division for Dallas County. Mrs. Grona-Robb graduated from The University of Texas School of Law in 2000 and has been an Assistant District Attorney for 17 years. She has served in a variety of prosecution positions, but has been involved with the HT-ICAC unit for over twelve years. Mrs. Grona-Robb has presented at a number of national conferences, including Crimes Against Children’s Conference, Conference on Crimes Against Women, JuST Conference 2015, and the National Law Enforcement Training on Child Exploitation.
