Test the organization’s response in conducting an initial investigation into searching for a missing or abducted child using the Incident Command System. Employ strategies and responses in mitigating and resolving the emergency. Participate in a multidisciplinary tabletop exercise to build cohesiveness within the investigative team when responding to an emergency.
**Child Abduction Tabletop Exercise training is a four hour course that can be delivered onsite or as a real-time virtual class.Please indicate your preference on the request form.** **More information about continuing education units is available [HERE](http://ncjtc.fvtc.edu/policies#continuingeducation)**. The goal of this training is to build a level of cohesiveness within the team while responding to a report of an endangered, missing, or abducted child. Participants will take part in a multi-disciplinary tabletop exercise built around a realistic abduction scenario. Participants will work through initial deployment, response, investigation, recovery and reunification procedures utilizing appropriate local resources. Exercises will conclude with completion of an after-action report to capture observations.

Go back to requestParticipants will learn about the purpose of the exercise and the learning objectives, goals and outcomes necessary for a successful exercise. Participants will be assigned to work groups or teams depending on their role in the exercise and provided guidelines for their activities including note keeping, exercise, resources and exercise guidelines.
Participants will actively participate in a fictional scenario involving the abduction of a child. Participants will develop response strategies and identify investigative actions they would take to safely recover the child. Participates will work as part of a team and will coordinate their activities within their team and with other teams or agencies as the scenario dictates.
Participants will discuss the exercise outcomes and the challenges they faced as part of the exercise. Each participant will be provided with an After Action Reporting form to capture their comments and observations.
